Nice post. I learn something totally new and challenging on blogs I stumbleupon everyday. It will always be useful to read through articles from other authors and use a little something from other web sites.
Nigerian discussion boards: The forum war continues
Why are you guys so gullible trusting Alexa.com? That is not the most reliable source of measuring site performance. Another thing is that all Nigerian sites are compared together. What does a e-commerce site or a bank have in common with a social networking site or forum? Some site are judged by number of visitors while e-commerce is judge by sales.

Not sure I agree with all of the comments on this site, but interesting blog post none the less. It's been a while since I've visited, but great stuff as always. Do you freelance and/or write guest posts for other blogs?

I believe nairaland will still come back to number one, because most people in Nigeria like to gist about breaking news and also gossips alot.

Yes. This list changes even as I type this reply. My initial plan was to review it every once in a while. I'll be happy to know any site I may have omitted. To err is human :)

It is funny how your assessment could easily lose value over time. Most of the sites you mentioned above don't even come up in Alexa's top 100 sites for Nigeria and besides there are a couple of Nigerian sites that you just omitted

It's really great to hear that our local programmers are doing great thing up there. The thing is, trying to clone sites like twitter or facebook is not actually a crime but rather our Nigerian youths are trying to show their talents. It'd just be good if they tried developing something that has never been built before. Also, using these already developed sites APIs to develop something on top would be awesome. Lets in Nigeria.
